About
I’m @Penguin on Twitter, but Jeremy to my mother and the law. A geek, startup junkie and party crasher from Detroit, now based out of Boulder. Likes: Motorcycles, mountains and suede shoes; Hates: Artificial grape flavor, smog and motorists who cross the double yellow in the canyons.
What I’m up to…
Consulting / speaking on social tools and strategy. Drawing attention, teaching folks to listen, helping marketing and PR folks figure out what time it is. The internet didn’t make you awesome, it just exposed your awesomeness to the world. I help expose your awesome. Catch me at a meetup, at 248.990.3862 or at jeremy at jeremytanner.com
Fiesta Agent
An “Agent” of Ford’s Fiesta Movement, a social experiment in which 99 other drivers and I were loaned the 2011 Fiesta for 7 months. Video, Photos, jumping out of airplanes. All in a day’s work.
Head Facilitator for Startup Weekend
Running Startup Weekends from the ground. Averting disaster. Securing last minute locations. Sponsor relations. Mediator. Ringmaster. Team Member. Food Getter. Project Manager. Promoter. Blogger. Videographer. Doorman. Community Builder.
In short, the startup Scottie Pippen, dishing out the assists that make the attendees awesome.
Boulder Ambassador
Reppin’ Boulder when I’m out of town, welcoming visitors when I’m around. Organizing community events, luring talented tech folks to the Front Range. Attender of meetups, shaker of hands. One part tour guide, two parts party host. Your man on the ground, your guy with a guest room. Let me know if you’re headed out this way.
