PodCamp Boulder 2009

PodCamp

PodCamp Boulder will be held January 23-24 at the skinnycorp / Threadless office (1468 Pearl St, Boulder)

Starting at 7:00 Friday night we’ll get together over drinks and in front of a whiteboard to hash out the Saturday schedule. Knowledge to drop? Things you’ve been curious about? So long as it’s in the realm of new media (Audio, Video, Photos, Blogs/Microblogs) , it’s fair game. We’ll wrap at 9:00 having decided both what sessions / panels / discussions will be happening, and when we want to be back in the morning. (9:00-5:00 or 10:00-5:00 Saturday) All are welcome. Invite a friend. Bring your gear, bring a good attitude.

Snack / Drink sponsors still welcome, contact jeremy at jeremytanner.com or call at 248-990-3862

Slice of Lime

Edit: Slice of Lime sponsored Beer on Friday and Bagels, Juice and Vitamin Waters for Saturday

Josh of Flying Dog came down with a keg of the K-9 Cruiser!

Ignite Boulder

I’ve been off the keys for a while.  I know.  I’m back now.  Excited inspired.  Committed to bleeding off a bit less of my energy on Twitter.  Now that that’s out of the way…

I gave the first of what I hope turns into many Ignite Boulder presentations a week ago.  Ignite allows 20 slides that auto-advance at 15 second intervals making for a 5 minute presentation.  Topics are incredibly varied, rules are, no spam, no pitches, be interesting, have fun.  Sort of a Turbo TED for the rest of us.  I presented Practical Party Crashing, a mini boot camp aimed at those about to rock (in a stranger’s house)  That was the most fun I’ve had at a tech event in quite some time.  Tseng, Tara and our Australian visitor John Allsopp KILLED it.  I can see doing this quarterly in Boulder going forward.  Below is most of my presentation.  Big thanks to Chip for manning the camera.

Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend was a blur, with myself and ~60 other people taking an idea and making it a company (VoSnap) in 54 hours. Starting with meeting and narrowing the ideas down to a single one on Friday night, to Leaving the temporary space on Sunday, there was something happening every minute. Meetings every hour, (some with yoga), the temporary site going up (VoSnap.com), getting some TechCrunch love, and finally wrapping up the weekend with a pending beta release. Head over to the site and sign up to be emailed when the quick vote beta launches!

Victory!

Cycle Plate…Over the Boulder DMV. This Story starts 2 months ago when I bought my motorcycle. When the milage was written in, the pen was low on ink, so a second pass at one of the zeros was made. Altered Title VOID!Unfortunately, this voided the title as it was considered ‘Altered’. After receiving the second title issued to the previous owners in the mail, I found that the back had been signed twice. After a third trip back to the DMV, I was given a ‘Statement of fact’ sheet to have signed by the previous owner as to why he wrote his name twice and crossed the second one out. After getting the signed statement back, I was able to go back to the DMV today and get my plates… 2 months later.
